Your First Visit
Your first visit to Sunrise Orthodontics is designed to give you real answers. Whether you’re bringing in a seven-year-old for an early check or coming in yourself as an adult who’s finally ready to fix a smile you’ve been putting off, the goal of that first visit is the same: a clear, honest picture of where things stand and what — if anything — needs to happen next.
What to Expect When You Arrive
We offer same-day consults and same-day starts. When you arrive, our team will get you checked in, take any necessary photos or scans using our 3D scanner and CBCT imaging, and Dr. Steven Dent will personally review everything with you before you leave.
For your first visit, bring a photo ID, your insurance information if you have orthodontic coverage, and a list of any current medications or relevant dental history. If your child has had prior dental X-rays taken recently at their general dentist, feel free to bring those along as well, though we’re equipped to take our own imaging on-site if needed. Beyond that, there’s nothing special to prepare — just come as you are and bring your questions.
What Happens During the Consult
Dr. Dent will walk through your scans and photos with you directly, pointing out exactly what he’s seeing and why it matters. If treatment is needed, he’ll explain the recommended approach, a realistic timeline, and what to expect along the way. If treatment isn’t needed yet, he’ll tell you that plainly, along with guidance on when to check back in. Either way, you’ll leave with a clear next step.
If you decide to move forward with treatment, our team will walk you through financial options on the spot, including our in-house payment plans, so you can make a decision with all the information in front of you.
If treatment is recommended and you’re ready to begin, we can often get started the very same day. If you’d like time to think it over, that’s completely fine too — there’s no pressure to decide on the spot, and our team is happy to answer any follow-up questions by phone as you make your decision.
Patient Forms
We make getting started simple. Complete your new patient forms online prior to your consultation to help us get you back to see the doctor faster.
Financial Info
We believe cost shouldn’t be a mystery, and it definitely shouldn’t be a surprise halfway through treatment. Every family that walks through our doors gets a clear, honest breakdown of what treatment costs, what’s covered by insurance if applicable, and what the remaining balance looks like — before any commitment is made.
In-House, Interest-Free Payment Plans
Rather than sending you to a third-party financing company, Sunrise Orthodontics offers in-house payment plans with no interest charged. We’ll work with you to build a monthly payment that fits your family’s budget, spread across the length of treatment, with no hidden fees and no fine print designed to surprise you later. If your financial situation changes during treatment, talk to us — we’d rather adjust a plan than have a family feel stuck.
Insurance
Many dental insurance plans include some orthodontic coverage, and our team will help verify your benefits and explain exactly what’s covered before treatment begins. If you have insurance, we’ll file the necessary claims on your behalf and apply that benefit directly to your treatment cost, so you’re not left to navigate paperwork alone. If you don’t have insurance, or your plan doesn’t cover orthodontics, our in-house payment plans are built to make treatment accessible either way.
What to Expect Cost-Wise
Treatment cost varies based on what’s being corrected, which appliance or approach is right for your case, and how long treatment is expected to take — which is exactly why we don’t post a flat price online. What we can promise is that you’ll get a specific cost estimate at your first visit, before you commit to anything, and we’ll walk through every line of it with you so you understand exactly what you’re paying for and why. No estimate we give you should feel like a surprise once treatment gets underway.
