About clear aligners

Clear aligners are a series of custom-made, virtually invisible trays that gradually shift your teeth into place — no metal, no wires, no brackets. Each set is worn for one to two weeks before you move on to the next in the series, with each new tray nudging your teeth a little closer to their final position. Because they’re removable, you can eat what you want, brush and floss normally, and go about most of your day without anyone noticing you’re in treatment at all.

Clear aligners aren’t the right fit for every case — some bite corrections and more complex movements still call for braces — but for the right candidate, they offer a level of convenience and discretion that traditional braces simply can’t match. We’ll tell you honestly during your consult whether you’re a good candidate. If aligners aren’t the better option for your specific case, we’ll say so, even if it means recommending braces instead.

Angel Aligners

At Sunrise Orthodontics, we offer Angel Aligners, a clear aligner system built on the same digital scanning technology we use throughout our office. Because your treatment starts with the same precise 3D scan we use for every patient, there’s no goopy impression required to get started — just a scan, a custom digital treatment plan, and a set of aligners built specifically for your teeth.

We use Angel Aligners because they let us combine a clear, comfortable treatment experience with the same close, hands-on oversight we give every patient — regular check-ins, real adjustments if your treatment isn’t tracking as expected, and a team that’s actually watching your progress, not just mailing you trays and hoping for the best.

Clear Aligners for Kids

Clear aligners aren’t right for every child, but for the right case — often kids with mild to moderate spacing or crowding — they can be a genuinely good option. Because aligners are removable, they can also be a good fit for kids who play contact sports or instruments where brackets and wires might get in the way.

The tradeoff is discipline: aligners only work if they’re worn as directed, typically 20 to 22 hours a day, and that’s a bigger ask for a younger child than it is for a teenager or adult. We’ll talk through your child’s specific situation and personality honestly at the consult, including whether aligners or traditional braces are the better fit — not just clinically, but realistically, for your family and your child’s daily routine.

Clear Aligners for Teens

Teenagers are often excellent candidates for clear aligners, especially as they get more comfortable managing their own responsibilities. Aligners let them keep their smile essentially invisible through school photos, prom, and everything else that comes with these years, while still making steady, trackable progress.

We build in accountability without turning it into a fight at home — each aligner has built-in wear indicators we check at every visit, so we can tell honestly whether treatment is on track, rather than relying on guesswork or hoping for the best. If a teen’s wear schedule slips and treatment starts falling behind, we’ll say so directly and work with your family on a plan to get back on track, rather than letting a small issue turn into a bigger delay.

Clear Aligners for Adults

For a lot of adults, clear aligners are what finally makes treatment feel possible. No one at work has to know you’re in the middle of a smile transformation, you can take your aligners out for a nice dinner or an important meeting, and the day-to-day experience fits into an adult schedule in a way that braces sometimes don’t.

Adult cases often come with a bit more complexity — previous dental work, years of gradual shifting, or a bite that’s changed since your last orthodontic treatment (if you ever had any) — so we take the time to build a plan around where your teeth actually are today. Many adult patients are excellent candidates for Angel Aligners, and we’ll walk you through a realistic timeline and expected outcome before you commit to anything.
