Meet Dr. Steven
Dr. Steven Dent
Hi, I’m Steven Dent. My approach to orthodontics is rooted in compassion, precision, and a genuine commitment to patient education. My goal is to create a welcoming, relaxed environment where patients of all ages feel right at home — whether it’s their first visit or they’re counting down the days until their braces come off.
Partway through dental school, I stumbled upon my passion for orthodontics and never looked back. I love the unique blend of science, problem-solving, and creativity that goes into transforming a smile. There’s something deeply rewarding about tackling a complex orthodontic challenge, crafting a plan, and watching it all come together over time. I’ve always loved figuring out how things work and making them better — which is probably why orthodontics turned out to be a better calling for me than trying to solve world peace.
One of my favorite parts of the job is watching a patient’s confidence grow right alongside their smile. I care deeply about building beautiful, healthy smiles and lasting relationships with the families I serve. I also believe orthodontic appointments don’t have to feel like a chore. We work hard, have fun, and share more than a few laughs along the way. Because if you’re going to spend time in braces, you deserve an orthodontist who genuinely loves seeing you smile — even before treatment is done.
Education
- Bachelor of Science, Nutritional Science — Brigham Young University
- Doctor of Dental Surgery — Dalhousie University School of Dentistry
- Master of Science in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics — Western University, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry
I grew up on a dairy farm, which gave me a deep appreciation for hard work, patience, and not being afraid to get my hands dirty. It also taught me that orthodontic patients are generally much easier to reason with than cows.
Outside the office, you’ll usually find me shooting hoops, exploring the outdoors, or spending time with my wife Brittany and our six kids. I’m also on a never-ending quest for the perfect burger and fries — tips always welcome.
And one more thing: I have a goal of someday owning a tractor. Partly because tractors are just genuinely awesome, partly because it would let me pitch in with hurricane cleanup efforts here in Florida, and partly because growing up on a farm, it always felt like unfinished business. A man can dream.
